How to ensure your Restaurant is Serving Safe Food   no comments

Posted at 11:46 pm in Business
by Malcolm J. Richmond

Lately, the news has been full of horror stories about food poisoning. Many food poisoning cases have been linked to food served at restaurants. Wherever your restaurant may be, safety regulations are in place to protect the health of diners. Victoria, Australia is no exception to this rule.

Regardless of the kind of food you serve in your establishment, cleanliness and following safety regulations with regard to food handling are good habits to keep and can prevent food poisoning.

Salmonella is a bacterium which can affect many types of food items. Usually, raw poultry and eggs are the prime suspects in salmonella related food poisoning cases, but contamination from faeces and pet reptiles can also carry these bacteria. There are two ways to prevent salmonella form causing food poisoning which are guaranteed to be effective: thoroughly cooking food before serving and regular, thorough hand washing before, during and after cooking or eating.

Escherichia coli (or E-coli for short) is a form of bacteria which can cause serious illness or even death. Found naturally inside of the human body and in some foods, some strains can be lethal. E-coli produces harmful, toxic substances and includes unpleasant (to say the least) symptoms including watery and/or bloody diarrhea. A healthy adult can generally weather a case of E-coli food poisoning, but the elderly, the sick and young children are at risk of getting very ill if infected. As with salmonella, the way to prevent E-coli infection is thorough cooking and regular hand washing, along with careful cleaning of all cooking areas. Hand washing should become a thoroughly ingrained habit. You use your hands to pick up everything - even harmful microbes.

With all of the stories about food poisoning in the news, it’s understandable that some people are a little nervous about dining out. To make sure that your establishment keeps your customers safe from the risk of infection, be sure to follow the HACCP principles. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and is a set of principles designed to make sure that foods prepared for people to eat are safe. Many of these regulations are simply common sense, such as putting milk back into the refrigerator after use or dating items before freezing.

Running a restaurant kitchen requires that you stay on top of a lot of different things. If you’ve got employees whom you supervise, you must ensure they are up to speed on HACCP principles and adhere to them. You don’t want all of the work you’ve put into your restaurant to be ruined by one mistake made out of ignorance of the HACCP principles.

Having a HACCP certified kitchen is very marketable. If you have received stickers or certifications from health officials, be sure to place them where your customers can see them. This way they know that the food which you are serving to them was prepared in a clean kitchen which complies with health and safety regulations and they can dine in without getting anxious.

Technical Analysis Vs Stocks…is There A Connection?   no comments

Posted at 11:39 pm in Business
by Jesse Profit

In making determinations as to what the stock markets worldwide are going to do in terms of how prices move, there are two distinct schools of thought about analysis of companies and their investment prospects. The typical school of thought, and one that has been successful over the last decades has been the school of fundamental analysis.

Fundamental analysis views not only the financial opportunities of a company, but also the likelihood of accomplishing these goals in respect to their competitors. Technical analysis, on the other hand, has been successful in use, but not very structured or scientific. Thus, the question again arises, what is the connection between stocks and technical analysis?

Simply put, technical analysis studies past trends in the market. These trends are then used to help figure out what a future of a stock’s price may be. However, this entire question with regard to the connection between stocks and technical analysis is still unanswered. What allows people to think that the price of stocks can be predicted by just looking at graphs and chart? Doesn’t the companies overall condition and its financial outlook help in determining or predicting stock prices?

Well, part of the reason that technical analysis is utilized by some market analysts is that, although one would think that statistically speaking a trading day on the stock market should only be influenced by that day’s events and treated like an independent event, the reality is that most market movement trends over time and the full impact of one event (a downgrade of the stock by an analyst or a movement of earnings higher than expected by the same analysts) is never isolated to one day.

As a result, technical analysis utilizes tons of data including old stock quotes, trading volume charts, and a host of other data, to develop charts and graphs that work to determine exactly how long the impact of a move in a company will persist and impact the stock market trading of a particular issue.

In many cases, a side by side comparison of a fundamental analysis and a technical analysis of the same stock market issue have yielded results in which the technical analysis has been more able to predict the short term ebbs and flows of a particular company. However, the fundamental analysis works on a longer term basis, and so the technical analyst has earned a reputation of being a \”short\” predictor rather than a \”long\” predictor in the markets.

Overall, technical analysis is more detailed due to the large amount of terminology used which describes existing trend lines and graphical shapes. Typical investors without the knowledge needed can be easily discouraged when trying to comprehend this type of data. For example many terms used to describe trends are ambiguous and used interchangeably (e.g. elbow, shoulder). This can denote upswings or downswings with leveling off at intervals. This can make it harder for interpretation.

Ultimately, many in the investment community are still asking the question \”What basis can we make the connection between technical analysis and stocks?\” in terms of how that type of analysis can be instituted for everyday use. The reality is, technical analysis is imprecise, open to wild interpretation in some cases, and ultimately serves the purposes of the people that use it. However, given the level of success with the tool, it’s unarguable that technical analysis can be a legitimate market analysis tool.

Reverse Mortgage Lenders: How to Select the Right One   no comments

by Igor Buces

Not all reverse mortgage lenders are equal. Selecting the appropriate type of reverse mortgage lender could mean saving hundreds of dollars during the lifespan of the mortgage. Also, the proper type of lender may guide you and educate you throughout the process so that you have a painless memory.

You may select a reverse mortgage lender before deciding on getting a reverse home mortgage or after you are positive that a reverse mortgage is what you want. You could even desire to look over a few basic articles about how a reverse mortgage works before talking to a lender. That way, you could be ready to formulate the lender any questions you may have.

When looking for reverse mortgage lenders, ensure that the lender can perform the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) kind of reverse mortgage. This kind of reverse mortgage is backed by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA.) That kind of home loan has limits on how much you may be billed and provides the best interest rates. Also, it provides a no-cost consultation with a third-party expert who will satisfy your doubts in a objective way.

As with in any service, you will find good and bad reverse mortgage lenders. You could decide to question people you know about their reverse mortgage experience. They could be able to tell you of a professional lender or offer you an idea of what they considered was valuable during the loan application.

Furthermore, you may want to think of a big reverse mortgage lender. By utilizing a large bank, you are guaranteed that the employees have to hold the organization’s standing. Also, they usually carry lower interest rates because they do loans based on big numbers and lower profit margins.

Once you have a couple of reverse mortgage lenders selected, you can do a few things. For example, you may research the department of finances for the state where you live or the Better Business Bureau about written complaints against them. Be careful with institutions with many complains.

Furthermore, maintain a ono-to-one or phone meeting with the lenders. That way, you can get a good sense about how the person does business and whether you would be well-off dealing with the broker. Since this is an important choice, it is a good idea to work with someone with who you can find yourself at ease.

Keep in mind that finding a reverse mortgage lender does not need to be difficult; Consider your friend’s suggestions, choose a big lender, do your search and follow your intuition. This way, you have the best possibility to choose the right lender among the reverse mortgage lenders available.

Pay Per Click or Pay Per View? What’s best for your pocket?   no comments

by Ed Bimsley

PPC, or to give it its full name, Pay Per Click has during recent years stormed its way to the front when looking for ways of earning money by advertising on the Internet. It is usually considered to be an inconspicuous way of placing your ads on other people’s websites and on the right hand side of the page of Google Search Results. By clicking on your ad, the reader is taken to your website splashpage, and it is from here that the sale may be made.

The ads themselves are displayed free of charge to you, and are largely administered by Google AdWords. You simply pay a set amount every time a user clicks on the ad which can be anything from 10 cents to $30 per click. The ads appear as sets of words pre-written by you and are only visible on webpages where the material is related to what you have on offer, based on the wording you have selected in your ads.

It has to be said that there are mixed feelings about PPC with some Internet marketers considering this method of advertising to be a goldmine, whilst others feel the results could be improved upon.

Enter the new wave: Pay Per View (PPV) Marketing. With PPV (Pay per View) advertising, you don’t have a link that takes one back to your website…your website appears before the page viewer’s very eyes! And this happens when you want it to happen.

Instead of costing a few bucks per clicked ad, PPV Marketing costs you only pennies to make a far better ROI–and not just in terms of time spent, but clearly in terms of your bottom line, too. With a mere $1, PPV can send you 100 supertargeted visitors, people just waiting to buy from you.

The money you are charged on pay per click soon mounts up. Not only this, you need to come up with targeted ads, research thousands of “hot tags”, most of which are being used by all and sundry and then you have to pay out even further by the shots in the dark you take which do not produce any sales whatsoever. With PPV super targeted marketing you can forget about all these things. After all, if you really want to prosper in what you do you MUST know how to do it. This is where PPV GOLDMINE E-book comes into play showing you everything you need to know about becoming successful using PPV marketing. Other than the few pennies per ad the only cost you are faced with is a one time fee of $47. This is less than you are likely to pay in 24 hours using the PPC method.

The substantial amount of income you have always dreamed about from your Internet based business is there for the taking so why not have a look at PPV Goldmine? When used correctly you have nothing to lose and everything to gain with this simple yet powerful way of making your advertising worthwhile.

Investing In Javea Apartments   no comments

Spain is undoubtedly among the most beautiful and mysterious countries on our planet. So, a property in Spain is one of the best investments you can make. Javea is a port, on Costa Blanca, one of the loveliest spots in Spain, and among the fastest developing. Buying a villa or an apartment in Javea is one of the smartest investment moves you can make right now.

Combining the best of modern living and natural beauty, Javea provides luxury apartments and golf courses along with lifestyle resorts and yet keeps its old world charm around. Javea will keep out the ‘concrete jungle’ concept, because they have their own policies on building construction with strict height regulations.

Location might be the most important consideration for real estate investments, but another one, just as important, is the price. Here, again, Javea is a haven. The prices are more than reasonable - 175,000 pounds for a comfortable apartment, up to 320,000 pounds for a luxurious villa.

Javea has an intelligent tourist policy, which is very likely to cause a huge rise in property prices soon. If you take the opportunity to buy your piece of peace in Javea, you won’t regret it. After you buy the property, you can easily rent it out for holiday makers, until you decide to come live there.

There are plenty of people buying property in Javea, so you will have to hurry to get your finger in this pie early enough. The British seem to have caught on very fast. It is quite easy to get to and from Javea, because the airports at both Murcia and Alicante are close, and the travelling to and fro is quite cheap. And it’s not just the British - other Europeans, too, have recognised the golden investment opportunity that properties in Javea have become.

The sun, the sand and the surf make Javea the perfect place for a vacation and people realise that. You can choose to rent it out to families during the peak time, in summer, for a week or two for great rates, or you can have a stable income throughout the year. For a two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment, for instance, you can easily expect around 500 Euros per week during the non-peak period - that is, during winter and autumn. During summer, you can reasonably expect 700 Euros per week - a very good return on your investment.

While the money is a good extra income, your own property in Javea serves as your holiday home too. Taking the step to buy at least an apartment in Javea will be a safe and profitable investment.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to own prime property in one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines. For profit or for holiday-making, Javea is your place to be.

The Basics of Office Furniture   no comments

Posted at 11:20 pm in Business
by Garry Chains

One of the most important features of our home that we never really think about is the furniture that inhabits it. The most anyone thinks about is whether all the pieces match or follow a certain dcor. The same pattern follows with the purchasing of office furniture.

Since three-fourths of the person’s working day is spent in their office, the furniture should be regarded as more important. Whether in a brick and mortar building or a home office, finding the right office furniture deserves a thorough investigation. A tricky decision is buying office furniture.

The first detail a purchaser should think about is not aesthetic but ergonomic. Ergonomics is the position of your body to advance productivity without causing bodily fatigue that causes mental fatigue. Anyone who has worked in an office for eight hours a day understands that it is very easy to get fatigue if you’re not comfortable.

Office furniture offers many different designs and items that promote good ergonomics. The office chair in which the professional sits needs to have adjustable backs, height and arm rests. There are guidelines for how to sit in the chair and in which positions to place the chair for certain body types.

The spatial need of the office is the next point the purchaser must decide upon. A smaller desk and supply area are needed for smaller offices. The options for a larger office are incalculable.

The L-shaped desk has space for writing, storage and supplies which makes it perfect for the larger office instead of multiple drawers and cabinets. The larger office can also utilize a smaller desk if the need for client seating and bookshelves or cabinets exists. So vast it cannot be listed, the selection and placement of office furniture for a larger office is abundant.

Office furniture does have a variety of different aesthetics. The color choice can bring about different feels for an office making it either somber and professional or light and friendly. Desks are offered in wood tones or bright or darker colors like pink and black.

Oak is the most popular of the colors of office furniture, being a lighter wooden shade. A more professional atmosphere is created by the second most popular wooden shade of cherry. The tone of the office is traced back to the type of desk it occupies.

On both ends of the L-shaped desk are built in cabinets. Purchasing cabinets separately will need to be done if the L-shaped desk is not desired. Matching cabinetry adds to the professional tone of an office space.

The look and feel of the office furniture benefits employee productivity. These are not decisions to be made without full consideration. Decorating and designing an office space creates an atmosphere that is most suitable for their work.

Cabinets and bookshelves complete the fundamentals of filling the office space. A finished office puts the occupant into the right state of mind to get the work done after all the decisions have been made. A truly satisfying office creates a truly happy worker.

Taking Surveys to Earn Money is Big Business   no comments

by Jung Foo

Many people are surprised to discover they can get involved with surveys jobs to make a little money. While making money for doing surveys is a great way of getting ahead, it is not a way of getting rich. Even so, the process is fun, interesting, and there are plenty of jobs open.

In fact, surveys to earn money have become so popular that there are now more companies than ever before. This is a great way to make a little money fast, which is why people love it. While money is the typical pay, some companies will pay in the form of credits or goods.

While top paid surveys online is a little unique, it works. With this, you would go through a brief registration process. From there, the company would contact you when they have a survey needing to be completed, which you do and then submit.

Doing surveys for money is something that the average person can do. Without the need for any special training, education, or even geographical location, you simply provide your opinion. In fact, all you need is a desire and a computer.

There is not typical type of person that gets involved with surveys to earn money but we do see a growing number of stay-at-home mothers, disabled individuals, elderly, and even teenagers looking to make some money. As long as you are a consumer and have an opinion, you would likely be accepted. Now, there are some websites looking for something special but this is rare.

In fact, the majority of top paid survey online companies are simply looking for someone who can provide input about a service or product. However, if there is special need, then someone with personal experience would be needed. In the case of a new mother, she might be asked to provide an opinion on a new baby product getting ready to be introduced to the public.

Market research, which is the survey jobs, gives you the chance as a consumer to get involved with product development. Companies want to do everything possible to make consumers happy, which is why they need consumer input. In fact, survey jobs help these companies gain great insight so they can make important decisions or changes.

Sometimes, top paid surveys online will focus on something unique. If there were a new type of ice cream getting ready to launch but the name cannot be decided on, the company may offer survey jobs to see what consumers think. In this case, you might be provided with a list of names from which to choose or you may simply be asked to make one up.

In fact, there are many purposes for having surveys done. Regardless, this marketing tool is something every business needs. Then as the consumer, you can help but also earn some extra money simply by conducting surveys.

The truth is that doing surveys to earn money is a pretty straightforward process. In most cases, the companies are on the up and up, simply needing consumer input. Even so, as the consumer, you need to make sure you work with reputable companies, which can be determined by looking at the site’s information.

You will find many great online surveys to do but instead of doing just any, take time to look around. You should actually look at several sites so you make the choice that will give you the most money earning potential. If any survey company asks for money from you, avoid them at all costs.

Case Studies Excellent Chance To Improve Ecotourism   no comments

Posted at 10:29 pm in Business
by Peter Mason

In the 25 years or so since the idea of ecotourism was born, many people have shown enough interest to study its impact on social, cultural and economic sectors of society. These closer looks can help supporters and interested travelers understand what ecotourism is about and what can be done to improve the concept.

Of course, some of this extra effort is aimed at better parks, forests, beaches and other travel destinations. But there is just as much interest in making sure the ecotourism industry survives to serve the environment and local populations in the future.

The example of the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is cited as a fine case study for understanding what ecotourism is and can do. In western Uganda, on the continent of Africa, the follow-up study of this park is an attempt to find out how important the ecotourism philosophy can be. In addition, those studying the case hope to find out how ecotourism can be relevant to local wildlife and to local populations.

Among the purposes of a case study such as this are: assessing awareness by local residents of the concept of ecotourism; discovering how ecotourism has, or can, contribute to the well-being of the local population; finding out if local residents accept the idea of ecotourism as beneficial to the environment. One portion of the study attempts to connect education levels with ecotourism awareness.

Belize, in Central America, is another good example of ecotourism well done. Follow up studies and close inspection of ongoing projects shows that this country was a pioneer in the field of ecotourism. Belize put its focus on attracting a certain kind of tourist to enjoy the wonderful natural resources and beautiful scenery. The country’s economy has certainly benefited from careful management of the tourist diving industry. This one very traditional tourism activity has been managed in Belize as an ecotourism stop, with minimal impact on the gulf and the marine wildlife.

One interesting (some would say excellent) finding from case studies is that local populations generally support ecotourism and conservation efforts, even when they are not directly employed by the project. The response to interviews and polls show that local residents support the concept and the projects, even when they do not benefit financially in a direct way. Many also expressed the hope that future income was possible, through selling services and products to ecotourists. Some expressed concern about illegal sales and service activities generated by the proximity of the ecotourism project. Other unsavoury activities persist in spite of intervention by international agencies.

Different case studies in this relatively new industry show that ecotourism does bring economic improvement to the location, while also contributing to the preservation of natural resources. This is true in Belize as well as benidorm, and around the world. In addition, ecotourism projects have a positive impact on social and cultural health of the country. The activity of well-planned and well-managed ecotourism helps sustain the indigenous culture by encouraging the traveler to experience but not exploit. As more positive results come to light, due to good ideas being managed well, the reports and case studies will certainly highlight ecotourism’s potential.
